At SSE Business Energy we’ve been proudly powering our customers for over 20 years, and we’re committed to building a better world of energy for the future. Since becoming Director of SSE Business Energy earlier this year, I’ve been eager to look at how we continue to offer competitive prices, provide high levels of service and meet the changing needs of our customers.
That’s why I’m pleased to announce that we’re investing in a new business platform covering our end to end customer experience, to ensure our customers and partners continue to receive the service they expect and deserve in the digital age.
We’ve chosen Itineris as our platform provider. Itineris is a specialist in utility billing solutions and has a strong and reliable solution, UMAX, with a track record of successful migrations at scale across the UK, Europe and US.
We’ve also appointed Capgemini as our business change experts to support us during this platform transformation. Capgemini has developed a strong understanding of SSE’s business and cultural ethos, having partnered with us for several years. They have also worked closely with our solution provider, Itineris, and bring a wealth of experience to our collaborative team.
The business energy market is becoming more and more competitive, and I’m excited to be competing in this evolving space. We see a trend across the industry towards customers looking for solutions and tools to better understand when and how they are using their energy. Our new platform will embrace these changes in customer behaviour as we strive towards a cleaner, greener energy future.
This commitment marks a step change in how we can service our customers from initial engagement and quotation through account set-up, metering, and billing. Our new platform will make it simple to get accurate bills on demand and help us produce the best quotes to suit the bespoke needs of our customers. It will empower our people to continue to provide excellent service and meet customer expectations as markets change and evolve.
Data privacy is as important to us as it is to our customers and partners. We’re making sure we continue to protect this by investing in a secure platform, which will benefit from future updates in line with industry and international best practice.
The new platform is on schedule to start migrating our customers in 2021. We’ll be keeping our customers and partners updated along the way and we’ll be in touch before we transfer accounts to the new system. I’m looking forward to seeing it transform everyday business for us all.
